Case Conference and Dinner

We were presented with 12 cases by Iranian cardiac surgical fellows yesterday out if the list that has grown to over 30!  Many complex cases that will be very challenging.  After a taxi ride back to the hotel we took a quick rest and walked down the street to a dinner at a under the sea themed restaurant with live music.  Tomorrow, surgery starts. Very excited!  Sorry pictures won’t upload.  Will try another way.

1st NCA Trip: Tehran, Iran

I am currently on my way to meet an entire team of medical professional dedicated to the treatment of children afflicted with CHD.  We will also be providing pediatric cardiac surgery education from OR to the PICU.  The Cardiac Alliance is ecstatic about this trip with a new partner and is looking forward to operating on 25 children!  Follow along as I blog the trip.

Who Wants to Visit Quito and fix some hearts?

We need a pediatric Perfusionist to travel to Quito, Ecuador to kick off a new program with an awesome surgeon and team.

Quito, Ecuador’s capital, sits high in the Andean foothills at an altitude of 2,850m. Constructed on the foundations of an ancient Incan city, it’s known for its Spanish colonial buildings dating back more than 500 years. It all can be taken in from the TelefériQo, a gondola ride up the Pichincha volcano, with the Parque Vulqano amusement park at its base.

Dates: SEPTEMBER 26th – OCTOBER 10

We need you, we will provide Flight, Housing and most meals.  Please submit your info online for immediate consideration at:

NCA or contact me directly @ brian.forsberg@cardiac-alliance.org or +1 918-906-0288.

We Are Back!

The Novick Cardiac Alliance has been very busy these past few months and I can now announce that we are back and growing faster than ever.  A dedicated, passionate group of medical professionals has founded this new charity and we are spreading across the globe rapidly.  We have new exciting research projects underway, new countries, and most importantly have not stopped operating on children in need.  Our education programs are expanding and we are bringing our dream to life.  August 1st will be the start of the Perfusion Blog in a awesome new country we have never operated in before.  I look forward to interacting with you all and bringing international pediatric perfusion right to your home.

Pump Strong.  See you soon.
